Clodiagh were on their travels for the second week running and were looking to maintain their good form and knew a win here would move them to the top of the table with a number of clubs in shield action over the weekend.

As in keeping with recent matches, the Drombane side started brightest and created numerous chances with both Dean Carew and Ailbe O'Donoghue both going close, but found the home ‘keeper in top form as he made a number of fine saves.

Clodiagh were made to pay for their missed chances when Moneygall took the lead with a fine finish from just inside the area after 20 minutes when the away defence failed to clear a long kick out.

Clodiagh maintained their composure and were soon level when Ailbe O'Donoghue slotted home after being released by Dean Carew with a well timed pass.

It was more of the same in the second half for Clodiagh with the midfield quartet of James Murray, Paul Shanahan, Patrick Lowry and Diarmuid Grant all turning in impressive performances, with the latter putting Clodiagh ahead when his long range cross deceived the home keeper and sailed into the net.

With only minutes remaining Moneygall drew level, somewhat against the run of play when an effort from distance found the top corner of the net leaving Adrian Cooke with little or no chance. With time running out and the chance of only a point to show for their days endeavours, Clodiagh pushed forward in the dying minutes Dean Carew found himself bearing down on goal and made no mistake as he found the bottom right hand corner from close range to seal all three points in a tough and testing encounter.
