Following a comprehensive win against Borriskane in the last round Clodiagh Rangers A team had confidence going up the against one of North Tipperary’s best teams.

This game was moved to Clodiagh Rangers ground due to a waterlogged pitch.

The pitch in Drombane was just about playable.

Although league form was not good, Clodiagh started this game very good and created many chances and raced into the lead in 8 minute when David Butler put through put Ailbe O Donohue who finished well. In the 15 minute Clodiagh made it 2-0 when David Butler scored from a tight angle.

Clodiagh had a host of chances to put the game away but did not take them, this would prove vital in the end.

Nenagh Celtic grabbed a goal in the 35 minute to make 2-1. Just before half time Nenagh Celtic were given a rather generous penalty which made the score 2 -2.

In the second half Nenagh Celtic began in much better form and make it 3-2, this began the revival and gave the confidence to go on and pass the ball and created the better chance and gradually they made made it 4-2, then 5-2.

Clodiagh brought on subs for the last 25 minutes and managed to pull a goal back through new signing Brian Mannion. But Nenagh Celtic managed to score before the game was over.
