Clodiagh Rangers hosted Nenagh Celtic 'B' in Drombane for the second week in succession with a return to league action on Sunday morning.

The home side dominated this match from start to finish and the only surprise was that they failed to score in the opening half with Matt Ryan coming agonizingly close to breaking the deadlock from a Barry O'Loughlin cross and Shane O'Dwyer being denied an opener by a fine save from the Nenagh custodian when through on goal.

Nenagh Celtic were gifted a scarcely deserved lifeline at the start of the second half when a defensive lapse gifted them the opener, but this temporary setback merely served to sting the Clodiagh attack into action.

Moments later James Murray powered a header towards the target from a Gareth Foxton corner, and with the keeper only able to parry, Paul Doyle pounced to smash home the equalizer.

The home team took the lead shortly after, when the impressive Shane Dwyer advanced into the area and forced the away keeper into action, who could only parry again, and this time John Ryan capitalised on the loose ball to convert. Paul Doyle got his second of the match when he applied a deft finish at the near post from Paul English cross from the right.

The Drombane side ramped up the pressure and effectively killed off the contest midway through the second half when Gareth Foxton was hauled down in the area after a mazy dribble from the midfield. Foxton dusted himself down and duly converted the resultant penalty kick himself.

Matt Ryan completed the rout with twenty minutes to play when he coolly rounded the keeper after finding himself one-on-one with the keeper following an error by the Nenagh Celtic defender.
