Clodiagh Rangers
Clodiagh played neighbours Thurles Town at the Greyhound track on Sunday morning last in ideal playing conditions with Thurles Town in search of some much needed league form.

Both sides were close to full strength with both sets of players eager to shake off the festive excesses. The early exchanges saw Town taking advantage of a top quality playing surface as they moved the ball around well with both Eoin Dorney and Pat Lawlor calling  Adrian Cooke into the action in the visitors goal.

Clodiagh while defensively, were composed lacked any degree of incisiveness in attack.

The second half saw a more cohesive Clodiagh create the better of the chances. A superb individual run and shot from Mark Quinlan was matched by the reflexes of Gordon Carey in the home goal.

The game was now opening up with Town in need of the three points started to commit men forward which saw Paraic Fogarty and Eoin Dorney again both going close with shots.

With full time approaching Clodiagh striker Paul Doyle almost snatched the winner but was thwarted by an in form Carey as pushed away an almost certain goal to safety.

The result which was Clodiagh's third clean sheet proved to be point gained for the Drombane side and two lost for Town.
