Clodiagh Rangers
Clodiagh were condemned to relegation after a slightly unlucky defeat at the hands of Cloughjordan

Clodiagh started well and almost hit the front fifteen minutes into the contest when Matt Ryan latched onto a Liam McCullagh freekick, but the Cloughjordan keeper reacted well to save.

Ten minutes later however the home keeper upended Paul Doyle in the area to concede a penalty and was fortunate to stay on the pitch. Clodiagh Rangers sense of injustice was thus compounded when the Cloughjordan custodian managed to keep out the resultant penalty kick.

The home side, buoyed by this slice of luck came into the game strongly and snatched a lead goal before halftime when a cross to the back post was nodded home by Hayes.

Cloughjordan struck again early in the second half, this time with Kennedy on the mark, and this would prove an unassailable lead for the visitors. Matt Ryan had a second half effort cleared off the line but Clodiagh Rangers could not find a way through.
