With promotion secured the previous week against Clonmore, Clodiagh Rangers ĎA' welcomed Borrisokane ĎA' to Drombane on Sunday afternoon for their final home game of the season.

Clodiagh Rangers played with a slight wind advantage in the first half and duly took the lead with a goal of some quality inside the opening quarter hour. Paul Doyle, receiving the ball in space on the left wing, crossed for Matt Ryan who controlled the ball in front of goal and finished coolly to settle the nerves of the home side.

The impressive Doyle doubled the margin shortly after, latching onto a through ball from Liam Mc Cullagh to open his account for the day.

Mc Cullagh got on the score sheet himself moments later, converting from close range after a move down the right wing involving John Dwyer and Mark Quinlan. Paul Doyle and Mark Quinlan weighed in with further goals to make it five at the half time break.

Borrisokane rallied briefly in the second half with the respite of the wind in their back and started to trouble the Clodiagh Rangers rearguard.

Any faint hopes Borrisokane had of getting into the game were well and truly extinguished when John Dwyer expertly volleyed home a left-wing cross shortly before the hour mark. Michael Browne and Paul Doyle, completing his hatrick, piled on the misery for the visitors before second half substitute Eoin Shortt rounded off the scoring.
