Roscrea United
Clodiagh Rangers returned to league action on Sunday morning after weather enforced extended break in the fixtures.

The Drombane side played host to title chasing Roscrea United FC in what turned out to be a keenly contested affair in fair weather conditions.

Clodiagh Rangers took an early lead through Gerard Grant, and despite looking comfortable for most of the half, went into the interval at level scores after Roscrea United were awarded a penalty late in the half.

Tempers threatened to boil over with the half time whistle approaching and referee, Liam Kelly, was forced to take action reducing both teams to ten men for the second half. Consequently the second half was a far more open affair with both sides creating plenty of chances and both equally guilty of missing a number of guilt-edged chances. Roscrea United took the lead in fortuitous circumstances midway through the second half when the ball rebounded favorably off the frame of the goal to leave the Roscrea United forward with the simplest of finishes.

Clodiagh came up short in their efforts to breach the visitors' defense for the remainder of the contest and thus it finished, as Roscrea United failed to extend their lead despite being awarded a second penalty late in the match.
