Clodiagh travelled to Templemore on Sunday morning bidding to open their league points account at the second time of asking after a disappointing opening game defeat to Rearcross.

BT Harps took an early lead in the contest, with Alan Gibson sneaking a glancing volley in at the near post from a corner kick, catching the visitors' defence cold.
Clodiagh recovered from the early setback, gradually fighting their way into the game, and deservedly equalized on twenty minutes when a fizzing left wing cross from Barry O'Loughlin was emphatically headed home by Tommy Stevens despite the close attentions of the centre back.

Clodiagh hit the front shortly afterwards, with a Gareth Foxton free kick taking a fortuitous deflection off the wall, and nestling in the bottom right corner of the net. Clodiagh dominated the second half and spurned a hatful of chances to bury their hosts, with Tommy Stevens, John Ryan and Paul Doyle all going agonizingly close.

With injury time ebbing away, BT Harps were awarded a free kick at the left hand side of the area, and Clodiagh were made to pay a harsh price for wasteful finishing at the other end when from the resultant cross the ball ricocheted into the net.
