Clodiagh Rangers progressed to the quarter finals of the Tipperary Cup with a hard fought win at Rearcross on Friday night.
Rearcross had the chance to open the scoring when they were awarded a dubious penalty but a brilliant save from Adrian Cooke and a confident clearance from John Dwyer kept the scores level.

After squandering some chances of their own, Clodiagh Rangers took the lead when Steven Fewer ran at the defence and played Matt Ryan through to finish. The second half continued with Clodiagh Rangers on the attack and they were rewarded when Paul Doyle laid on for Mark Quinlan to score.

From here to the end, Clodiagh Rangers defended resolutely, and despite conceding another penalty which was ultimately blazed over, they hung on for victory.
