BT Harps
Clodiagh entertained Templemore side, BT Harps 'B', in Drombane on Sunday afternoon, and recorded only their second league win of the season, but that was enough to propel them above their opponents in the league standings.

The home side fell behind to an early goal, with a fine strike from the BT Harps forward from inside the area, but responded emphatically, dominating possession and equalizing before the half hour.

James Murray released Paul Doyle down the inside right channel with an incisive through ball, and Doyle did the rest with a cool finish beyond the BT Harps keeper. Having escaped further damage, the visitors survived to the break at level scores, and emerged for the second half rejuvenated.

BT Harps regained the lead on the hour mark leaving the home team with an uphill battle to salvage a much-needed result from the contest.

The Drombane side responded well to the setback and restored parity straight from the kick-off. Having worked the ball well to the edge of the opposing area, Denis McCullagh had a shot at the target that the keeper could only parry, and Paul Doyle fired home the rebound from an acute angle.

With time running out, and both sides going desperately for victory the game became a very open affair, but it was Clodiagh who held their nerve to take all three points.

Denis McCullagh and substitute, Tommy Stevens, combined in midfield to create the opportunity for Ailbe O’Donoghue who finished clinically beyond the despairing keeper.
