With promotion secured during the week, Clodiagh Rangers travelled to the Vocational School grounds in Nenagh to complete their final league fixture of the season, with Nenagh Celtic ‘B' the opposition who are fighting to avoid relegation to Division Two.

Unfortunately for the Nenagh team, this match was all one-way traffic, with both Denis McCullagh and Mark Quinlan finding the net to put Clodiagh rangers in a commanding position at halftime.

The Drombane men showed little mercy in the second half with Mark Quinlan tagging on his second, and James Murray finishing the season with a scoring flourish by scoring for the third game running.

Paul Doyle however equalled a club record by scoring five goals in a competitive fixture in the second half to win his personal battle for the ‘club golden boot' with Mark Quinlan, who incidentally amassed no fewer than a collective forty-eight goals for the season.

The result marked the end of a successful season for the Clodiagh Rangers squad and manager Eamonn Maher, which saw silverware in the shape of victory in the Divisional Shield, advancing to the fourth round of the Munster Junior Cup for only the second time in the clubs history, and most importantly promotion to the top tier of North Tipperary DSL.
