Clodiagh's luckless streak in the later stages of their games continued in this home encounter in the league on Sunday morning last.

With both sides requiring the three points to confirm mid table security and dispel any lingering relegation fears, the game was open and free flowing from the off.

The home side created the better of the early chances with both Paul Doyle and Denis McCullagh going close. At the other end Mikey Greed was a constant threat but was well marshalled by the Clodiagh rear-guard.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Clodiagh creating chance after chance but failing to capitalise on any. Colm Breen going particularly close when his fine shot from distance narrowly missed the target.

B.T. were always a threat on the counter. They got their break with two minutes left on the clock when a move ended with Stefan Leahy being fouled inside the home penalty area.

Sean McCormack found the bottom corner from the resulting spot kick despite the intervention of Adrian Cooke's finger tips.

An incredibly disappointing result for Clodiagh but credit to the Templemore outfit for their guile and experience in securing the three points on the day.
