Tipperary Cup
Clodiagh Rangers

Clodiagh Rangers 'A' welcomed premier league outfit Sallypark 'A' to Drombane on Sunday morning for round two of the Tipperary Cup but were largely outplayed by an in form side who were full value for their four nil win.

Despite both teams coming into the game on the back of good results the start to the game was lethargic, but it was the Premier Division outfit who showed greater cutting edge in the final third and were two goals to the good at the break thanks to Tosh Manicle and Gearoid Connors.

It was more of the same in the second period with Clodiagh Rangers chipping away but could not find that elusive finishing touch that might have hauled them back into the tie.

The home side luck in front of goal was abysmal and never more apparent than in two missed penalty opportunities with both Mark Quinlan and Gareth Foxton trying their luck from the penalty spot but unable to beat the in form Sallypark custodian.

Clodiagh Rangers were made to pay for their wastefulness as David Young hammered home a third goal for Sallypark on the hour mark to kill off the tie.

There was still time for a fourth goal from the visitors as Eoin Ryan defied the malaise of the previous penalty taker to cooly slot home from the spot to send Sallypark into the fourth round of the Tipperary Cup.
