Clodiagh were on the road again last Sunday as they travelled to Portroe for their penultimate league fixture against Arra Rovers where they eased to victory to take all three points.

The visitors bossed the game from the start and took a deserved lead twenty minutes into the game when John Ryan headed home an inviting right-wing cross from Paul English.

Arra Rovers showed great resolve in defence to prevent Clodiagh from opening the advantage further but the Drombane side struck late in the half to double their advantage when Shane O'Dwyer nodded home a Gareth Foxton freekick from close range.

O'Dwyer struck again early in the second half with the goal of the game when he fired an unstoppable shot beyond the Arra Rovers keeper from the edge of the area after Tommy Stevens and Matt Ryan had exchanged passes on the right wing.

Arra Rovers had a brief glimmer of hope of a comeback with twenty minutes to play when Kevin O'Halloran was upended in the Clodiagh area. O'Halloran dusted himself down to convert the penalty, but Clodiagh made sure of the win with a second goal from man of the match, John Ryan, five minutes from time.
