Clodiagh Rangers 'A' bowed out of the FAI Junior Cup at second round stage away to Moneygall 'A' on Sunday morning last after a disappointing display.

Clodiagh took the lead twenty minutes into the contest after a shaky opening. Adrian Cooke's goal kick was flicked on in midfield releasing Mark Quinlan in a one-on-one situation to slot the ball beyond the advancing keeper.

Monegall asserted themselves well as the home side and were good value for their equalizer before half time when Clodiagh failed to clear their lines adequately and Eoghan Ryan finished accurately from the edge of the area. In the second half Clodiagh Rangers enjoyed far more possession but rarely troubled the Moneygall goal, with their biggest threat coming from set pieces.

Paul English and Liam McCullagh went closest with shots from cleverly worked corner kick routines. With the regulation ninety minutes almost up Moneygall struck a killer blow, hitting Clodiagh Rangers on the counter attack with Ryan netting his second for what proved to be the decisive goal.
