BT Harps welcomed newly promoted Clodiagh to Templemore for the opening game of the premier league on Sunday morning last.

The opening exchanges were tentative as both sides found their feet in the early part of the game and both ‘keepers were called into action to keep parity in the game.

After twenty minutes newly signed Clodiagh striker Colm Breen capitalised on some hesitancy in the home sides defence to slam home his first goal for the club.

However as half time approached BT Harps scored a fantastic free kick to level the game, albeit the visitors will fell the ball was out of play in the lead up to the free kick being awarded.

The second half continued in a similar vein with both sides enjoying periods of possession without troubling the respective keepers. On the hour mark the game turned in a five minute period with two quick fire goals from the Templemore side, the second from the penalty spot which all but secured the three points.

Clodiagh continued to press but could not influence the games outcome despite carving out a number of chances.
