Clodiagh Rangers travelled to Loughtagalla in Thurles on Sunday afternoon for their Division One fixture with Thurles Celtic.

Clodiagh played into a stiff breeze in the first half but nonetheless managed to play much of the game in the Thurles Celtic half. The home team's goal lead a charmed life for the opening half hour but their luck finally ran out on thirty five minutes when James Murray headed home a Paul Doyle corner kick.

Matt Ryan tagged on a second for the visitors before half time with a neat finish after dancing his way into the area. Clodiagh began the second half in determined fashion, and effectively sealed the points inside ten minutes when a Gareth Foxton corner kick from the right carried into the far top corner.

Foxton doubled his tally for the afternoon soon after, finishing from close range after Thurles Celtic failed to clear their lines adequately from a Jason Forrestal freekick.

The Drombane side rounded off a miserable day for their hosts with a fifth goal late on when Matt Ryan capped a fine individual performance with his second goal.
