1-3(0-1)
Lough Derg
The third week of the premier division season pitted two sides against each other whose poor early season form meant three points from the tie was imperative.

Clodiagh with home advantage started well and created several chances inside the opening half hour. Lough Derg while tentative in the opening exchanges were well served by an organised back four and alert goalkeeper.

Lough Derg frontman Jamie Stuart gave the game the spark it needed on the stroke of half time when he availed of hesitancy in the home defence to score with his second attempt.

Clodiagh fought back in the second half and were rewarded when Brian Carroll got the required contact to a Denis McCullagh free kick.

Lough Derg responded almost immediately and a swift counter down their left saw the visitors restore their one goal advantage with a fine strike from the edge of the box from Jason Comley.

Clodiagh playing their best football of the game at this point could not find the goal despite efforts from Carroll, Fewer and Cullagh going agonisingly close.

Lough Derg finished the game in style scoring in injury time on the counter attack to take all three points back to the banks of the Shannon.
