Clodiagh took all three points on Sunday against Cloughjordan in their league encounter in Drombane .

In an entertaining opening half the away side started brightly but failed to create any clear chances. Mark Quinlan saw a Clodiagh free kick sail narrowly over as the home team imposed themselves on the game.

An audacious thirty yard chip from Foxton hit the top of the bar minutes later. Cloughjordan almost took the lead as the break loomed when a Kevin Quinlan header was cleared off the line by full back Murray.

The second half continued in a similar vain. Leahy shaving the wrong side of the post for the home side while Cloughjordan continued to probe and hit on the counter. On the hour mark a great run from Doyle set up McCullagh on the edge of the box, his shot was parried by the keeper and an alert Quinlan sent the loose ball to the net.

Cloughjordan could not find what would have been a deserving leveller as the Clodiagh defence and keeper defended with assurance to see out the remainder of the game.
