Having met on a number of occasions last season Clodiagh Rangers B' once more locked horns with Moneygall B' in the Division 3 Shield on last Monday afternoon in their opening fixture of the new season.

Though this pair were involved in some tight contests last season, the result of this match was never really in doubt.
Clodiagh Rangers took the lead after twenty minutes when Eamon Cullagh released Seamus Cullagh through on goal who cooly finished through the keeper's legs. Though the home side were in control of the game they will have been kicking themselves to go in at half time on level terms after a rare goalkeeping lapse on the the edge on the area saw a long ball finish up in the Clodiagh net.

Clodiagh wasted little time in the second half addressing the imbalance on the scoreboard when James Murray fired home a cross from close range. Moments later Murray turned provider when his through pass allowed Seamus Cullagh to finish low to the corner for his second of the match.

With a lead established, PJ Kennedy introduced his substitutes, and the fresh legs had the desired effect, with Clodiagh adding two more goals.
Firstly Pat Phelan, from a range of about six inches - converted a cross from James Murray.
Finally Eamon Cullagh completed the scoring with a long-range effort that the Moneygall custodian found too hot to handle.
