In what was a fairly drab affair Clodiagh were happy to leave Borrisokane with a draw.

Clodiagh’s squad may have been depleted due to other distractions however the 12 players who made the long trip put in a gritty display.

Clodiagh’s plight was made all the more difficult when Captain John Ryan hobbled off with a nasty ankle injury after 10 minutes.

The home side had the majority of possession but were restricted to long range shots which were dealt with by Robbie Hanrahan in the Clodiagh goal.

The defining moment of the game came after 30 minutes when the home side were awarded a penalty. A brilliant save by Hanrahan however kept Clodiagh in the game. Coupled with some fine defending by Alan Tierney and Dominik Pastorek the visitors took a well deserved point.

Clodiagh did create a few half chances with Daragh Brennan and Brian Hanrahan both going close from difficult angles.

A draw was a most welcome result considering a number of players were carrying knocks while others had been involved in action in other codes the day previous.
