Clodiagh Rangers B
In one last chance for Clodiagh Rangers B' to lure silverware back to Drombane, they travelled to Gurtagurry on Saturday evening last in the Quarter Finals of the Fast Food Cup.
Gurtagarry had beaten Clodiagh Rangers B' on three occasions previously this season in both the Divisional Shield and in two League fixtures, but in each case only by a single goal.

Despite an obvious determination about the visitors not to succumb to a fourth successive defeat at the hands of Gurtagarry, it was not to be, but the contest was not the one-sided affair that the score line readily suggests.

Clodiagh Rangers started promisingly playing and put together a good early move from which Andrew Quirke went close to opening the scoring. However it was Gurtagarry who went ahead when Willie Forde capitalized on some indecisive defending to flick home a corner at the near post.

Seemingly rocked by the concession of the lead goal Clodiagh Rangers gifted Gurtagarry two further goals before half time with Willie Forde and Jim Duignan making the visitors pay for some sloppy play.

Into the second half and Clodaigh Rangers to their credit put together a spirited performance and did their best but just could not get on the score sheet.

Gurtagarry defended well, but the poor playing surface made it difficult for Clodiagh Rangers to built any momentum or pressure on the home side's goal and their day was to get worse as Gurtagarry hit them on the break with Paddy Touhy completing the scoring.
