Rearcross B
Clodiagh Rangers were given an immediate chance at revenge for their exit from the divisional cup seven days earlier at the hands of Rearcross 'B' in the league on Sunday last.

The home side took full advantage on this occasion, in a reversal of last week's 2-0 scoreline.

Clodiagh took to the pitch determined to see out the league campaign on a high note, and though up against a considerably weakened Rearcross line up, the home side were in no mood for complacency.

Clodaigh Rangers had much of the possession in the first half and forced a number of corners and free kicks but never really threatened the Rearcross goal.

The Drombane outfit upped the ante in the second half and an improved performance yielded a lead goal when Patrick Purcell fired home from close range.

Clodiagh Rangers survived a couple of Rearcross goal chances with Patrick Lowry in fine form between the posts.

Lowry pulled off an amazing save from a Rearcross headed effort reminesint of Gordon Banks save against Pele in Mexico '70. Clodiagh Rangers sealed the victory with ten minutes left when Mark Conway doubled their advantage with a deft chip.
