Noreside Celtic
Clodiagh Rangers 'B' entertained Noreside Celtic in Drombane last Sunday morning bidding to continue their promotion drive. In a tight and cagey contest, the home side eventually came out on top on a slender one nil score line, with in-form James Horan scoring the all-important goal for Clodiagh Rangers with a powerful left foot strike from just inside the area midway through the opening half.

The home side were unlucky not to extend the winning margin with Patrick Purcell and Rory Ryan going close on a number of occasions after great play by Paudie Ryan and, second half substitute, James O’Loughlin in midfield.

A solid defensive performance by the back four in difficult weather conditions meant that a goal was enough to secure all three points however, with Keith Ryan having a relatively untroubled morning in goal, despite having to tip a long distance strike over the bar in the closing minutes.

The win all but secures Clodiagh's promotion to Division Two for next season with a game to spare, and with favourable results elsewhere, they may achieve promotion before their final league fixture.
