Clodiagh Rangers B
Last Sunday Clodiagh Rangers B' made the considerable journey west to take on Shannon Rangers knowing a win would keep alive the possibility of a third place finish. Clodiagh Rangers however started on the backfoot and were in defensive mode for most of the first half with a good goalkeeping performance and reasonable defending ensuring a goalless first half.

Clodiagh Rangers started the second half much the better team and were passing the ball well and creating chances and could have taken the lead on a few occasions but for some poor finishing. Their profligacy in front of goal would cost them dearly as Shannon Rangers plundered three unanswered goals in the last twenty minutes. The hosts broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after the referee adjudged the Clodiagh Rangers defender to have handled the ball in the area and Darcy duly converted for Shannon Rangers.

With the game spread, and Clodiagh Rangers chasing an equalizer, Carroll helped himself to a quick-fire brace for the home side on the counter attack to leave Shannon Rangers comfortable winners by three goals.
