Clodiagh Rangers 'B' tackled their Ballymackey counterparts in Drombane on Sunday afternoon bidding for three points to re-ignite their promotion charge.

The home team started the game in determined fashion and after Andy Kinane and Paul Ryan tested the opposing keeper early on, LJ Ryan opened the scoring on twenty minutes with an emphatic finish after cutting in from his left wing berth.

Despite laying siege to the Ballymackey goal and creating numerous further opportunities, Clodiagh failed to extend their slender one-goal lead before the break.

Ten minutes into the second half, the home team doubled their advantage when Andy Kinane rose unopposed to head home a Paul Ryan corner kick, and seemed to have put Clodiagh on course for victory.

However in a disastrous twenty minute spell midway through the half, Ballymackey fired three unanswered goals to turn the tie on it's head. Clodiagh sent on their full quota of substitutes for the final quarter hour but the Drombane side couldn't breakdown a resolute Ballymackey defence and the visitors held on to claim victory.
