Clodiagh Rangers 'B' entertained their Ballymackey counterparts in Drombane on Saturday evening for their opening league fixture of the campaign. The home team went behind to an unfortunate own goal when a mis-cued clearance to a freekick flew into the Clodiagh Rangers net.

Undeterred the Drombane side dragged themselves back into the game and Vincent Ryan headed home the equalizer from a corner kick inside thirty minutes.

Clodiagh Rangers parity was short-lived however as Ballymackey managed to retake the lead before the break. The visitors doubled their advantage almost directly from the restart when they were awarded a dubious spotkick which they duly converted.

Next for Clodiagh Rangers, an in form Vincent Ryan saw his shot rebound off the post, but when the ball cannoned back to him he squared for Paudie Ryan to reduce the deficit to a minimum.

Clodiagh Rangers pushed forward in search of an equalizer but left themselves exposed at the back and Ballymackey scored two further goals in the last ten minutes to put a somewhat unfair complexion on the scoreline.
