Streamstown
Clodiagh Rangers ‘B’ entertained high-flying Streamstown on Sunday afternoon in Drombane and endured an afternoon to forget.

Both sides started well and Clodiagh Rangers were unlucky not to take the lead when a Loughlin Ryan effort from distance shaved the top of the crossbar. Streamstown proved themselves more clinical at the other end minutes later when their forward got on the end of a left wing cross to convert from close range.

Brian Carroll had to clear off the line moments later to stop the visitors going further in front while Ailbe O’Donoghue headed against the Streamstown crossbar at the other end from a Gary Donnelly cross.

Just on the half hour marks, Clodiagh Rangers surrendered possession cheaply on the edge of their own area and were duly punished to leave them two goals in arrears at half time. Clodiagh Rangers dominated the opening exchanges in the second half but found the Streamstown defence impregnable and fell further behind at the other end with Streamstown taking full advantage of a setpiece at the edge of the area.

Clodiagh Rangers continued to press for the remainder of the half but failed to register their efforts on the scoresheet and were ruthlessly punished by Streamstown on the counter attack late in the contest to leave the final score at four goals to nil in favour of the visitors.
