On Saturday evening last Clodiagh Rangers B' began their 2010/11 league campaign with a trip to Sallypark Odhrans B'.

Clodiagh Rangers needed to bounce back following their shield exit the week previously and wanted to make a good start to the league. Sallypark had more possession in the early stages but goal chances were at a premium.

After Clodiagh Rangers lost the ball in the final third, a counter attack from Sallypark with swift passing led to them scoring the opening goal. Clodiagh Rangers now had to come from behind and that they did and when Seamus Cullagh crossed and James Murray, celebrating his birthday, volleyed home from 12 yards.

The teams were deadlocked at 1-1 at half time. Clodiagh Rangers believed that all three points were theirs for the taking, and in the second half put in a hard working performance. Rory Ryan put Sean Maguire through to beat the keeper and make it 2-1.

Then Rory Ryan was again the creator, this time putting substitute Daithi Maher through to finish and Clodiagh Rangers ran out deserved 3-1 winners.

The second half performance was very encouraging for Clodiagh Rangers, with the defence in particular excelling. Rory Ryan and James Murray were prominent in Clodiagh Rangers' fight back from one goal deficit to take the victory and bodes well for the season ahead.
