Clodiagh Rangers 'B' travelled to Holycross on Sunday morning for this encounter with fellow promotion hopefuls having arrested a poor string of results with a draw the previous weekend.

Clodiagh will have been happy with their morning endeavours and left with a share of the spoils having held their hosts to a draw at two goals a piece.

The Drombane side took time to find their feet in this game and were lucky not to go behind when the Holycross striker found himself through in a one on one situation with Keith Ryan but he shot wide of the target. This served as a wakeup call, and Clodiagh immediately upped the ante, with Andrew Quirke putting the visitors into the lead with a cool finish.

Shortly before half time, Clodiagh oubled their advantage when James Coffey showed great determination to win the ball on the right wing and fire a low cross into the area for LJ Ryan to fire home his second goal in as many games. However Clodiagh were made to pay for a sluggish start to the second half, conceding two sloppy goals in the process, and soon found themselves in a battle to take a point from the fixture.

In fact the visitors might have found themselves in arrears but for Holycross failing to convert a penalty kick. Clodiagh Rangers almost snatched all three points at the death when LJ Ryan put the ball in the net from a corner kick, but the referee disallowed the goal indicating that the ball had struck a Clodiagh hand before Ryan applied the finish.
