Clodiagh Rangers 'B' entertained Ballymackey 'B' in the Division 3 League on Sunday afternoon last with Clodiagh Rangers hopeful that securing maximum points would take them top of the table.

Unfortunately things did not transpire that way, quite the opposite in fact, and Clodiagh Rangers were left licking their wounds after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of a ruthless visiting Ballymackey side.

Defensive lapses gifted the away side two early goals in the first half to John Ryan and Owen O'Donoghue, and the half time team talk was not made any easier by the concession of a penalty just before half time to leave Ballymackey three goals to the good at had time.

The second half provided more of the same punishment for the home side, and sloppy defending ten minutes after the restart allowed Colm O'Donoghue in to make it four. The nightmare was completed for Clodiagh Rangers when with time running out they conceded a second penalty that John Ryan converted to complete his hatrick.

An afternoon in Drombane to forget for the home team and back to the drawing board for the management team.
