Clodiagh Rangers 'B' entertained Shannon Rangers in Drombane last Sunday morning with league titles and promotion places at stake.

Shannon Rangers were desperately chasing the win to keep the heat on league leaders Holycross FC, while Clodiagh were trying to maintain their promotion push.

Clodiagh raced out of the blocks in the first half and fired themselves into a three-goal lead at the half time whistle thanks to James Horan, Paudie Ryan and Shaun Coffey.

Shannon Rangers showed their mettle in the second half, and with the wind advantage pegged the deficit back to one with strikes from Sean Moran and Ray Burke. Clodiagh were denied the victory late on when John Flannery was deemed to have been fouled in the area and Keith Kelly levelled it up from the spot.

A draw did little to help either side, and all but ended Shannon Rangers title tilt, but should be enough to keep Clodiagh rangers in the promotion chase.
