Rearcross B
Clodiagh Rangers C', who have become the draw-specialists of late, hosted Rearcross B' in Drombane on Sunday in a match-up of two of the divisions in form sides.

A lively first half saw Rearcross create the better of the chances and they took the lead mid way through the half, when Clodiagh Rangers failed to deal with a long throw in and a glancing header found the bottom corner of James Coffey's goal.

In a topsy-turvy second half Rearcross continued to press and had a number of chances to extend their lead but to their credit the home team hung in to prevent any further damage being inflicted.

Matters seemed to take a turn for the worse for Clodiagh Rangers' when James Coffey was sent off with twenty minutes to play for handling the ball outside his area.

Rearcross could smell blood and pressed hard in search of that insurance goal to give them some breathing space in the contest, but a mix of resolute defending and the framework on two occasions denied the visitors.

As the game moved into the closing stages, the Drombane side appeared to throw caution to the wind and created a number of chances of their own with John Ryan going closest with a lobbed effort that grazed the top of the bar.

Fortune favours the brave, and with time running out the home team were awarded a penalty with the Rearcross defender adjudged to have handled the ball in the area. Jamie Moloney dispatched the penalty confidently giving the ten men a hard-earned point, and a fifth draw in six matches.
