Division 3
Clodiagh Rangers C
Borrisokane FC B
Clodiagh Rangers 'C' lost some momentum in their climb off the base of the Division Three table when they lost out to Borrisokane FC B' in Drombane on Sunday morning.

A win would have seen the hosts climb to within two points of their opponents, but two late goals by Borrisokane side were enough to secure victory and leave Clodiagh Rangers rooted second from bottom.

A closely contested first half saw both teams go to the half time interval scoreless.

Seamus Cullagh came closest for Clodiagh Rangers when his free kick left the keeper motionless but just went wide of the upright.

At the other end Clodiagh Rangers had Andy Kinane to thank for a fine double save just before half time to preserve parity.

The contest continued to be closely fought in the second half with the visitors creating more chances as the game reached its final stages. Despite creating few chances for themselves, Clodiagh Rangers appeared satisfied to be heading for a draw before disaster struck in the final five minutes.

The Borrisokane goalkeeper smothered a low Clodiagh Rangers cross and instantly launched a long ball forward affording their centre forward the opportunity to lob the advancing Andy Kinane in the Clodiagh Rangers' goal.

Borrisokane wrapped up the three points minutes later when their midfielder broke into the box to guide home a low left wing cross to cap a lightning counter attack.
