Clodiagh Rangers
Clodiagh Rangers u11 suffered their first defeat of the season when their cup ambitions ended in disappointment against Premier Division side Shinrone on Bank Holiday Monday last.
Both teams created openings early on but it was the home side that eventually broke the deadlock after thirteen minutes when they capitalised on some uncharacteristically slack Clodiagh Rangers defending to cut through and score from close range.
Despite having the lion's share of possession and playing most of the match in Shinrone's half, Clodiagh Rangers were unable to find an equaliser as the home side defended resolutely.
Shinrone greeted the final whistle with relief, while the Drombane boys could only react with frustration for producing a hardworking but ultimately below par display on the day.
Best for Clodiagh Rangers were midfielder Keith Ryan who covered every inch of the pitch and Ryan Greene who gave another assured performance between the posts.
Ryan Greene, Patrick Purcell, Ryan Davern, Dillon Maher, James Griffin, Keith Ryan, Jack Ryan(Casey), Darragh Bourke, Sean Ryan and AJ Shanahan.
