BT Harps
2-2(1-2)
Clodiagh Rangers
Luke Shanahan
Jamie Davern

Harps grabbed an equaliser within minutes when a low cross from the right flank was stabbed home from six yards. Clodiagh went back in front soon afterwards when Jamie Davern rifled his shot to the roof of the net.

The second half belonged to the visitors as they ran Harps ragged in search of an insurance goal. They were denied on several occasions by the woodwork, some glaring misses and last gasp defending from the home side.

With ten minutes to go the concession of a needless free kick 30 yards out allowed Harps to float in a dangerous ball on top of the Clodiagh goalmouth and as the ball dropped in the six yard area the referee saw fit to award a penalty to the home side for an alleged hand ball that he alone witnessed.

BT Harps gladly accepted this “get out of jail card” and subsequently held out for an unlikely point.
