Clodiagh u13's got the better of Killavilla for the second time in recent weeks when they gained three league points in this well contested encounter played in perfect conditions last Saturday morning in Drombane.

The home side were lucky not to concede an early penalty when Killavilla drew a foul adjudged just outside the area but the Roscrea boys were unable to capitalise with the resultant free kick.

Midway through the half Clodiagh opened the scoring when Oisin Treacy ghosted in at the back post to head home a teasing Stephen Ferncombe cross.

Eight minutes after the resumption Treacy grabbed his second when Luke Shanahan weaved his way into the area and delivered a pinpoint pull back from the end line which his midfield colleague rammed to the net from five yards.

Killavilla responded well and six minutes later they got themselves back in the match with a fine headed goal from eight yards.

The visitors had the better of things at this stage and the Clodiagh defence found themselves under increasing pressure. However Clodiagh created at least two glorious chances to seal the match but poor composure in front of goal let them down.

They finally wrapped up the points in the dying minutes when Luke Shanahan swung in a dangerous free kick that hat trick seeking Oisin Treacy narrowly failed to reach only for Stephen Ferncombe to pop up behind him and direct the ball to the net with a solid header.

Best for Clodiagh besides those already mentioned were Danny Slattery and Pat Ryan in defence.
