Clodiagh U13's travelled to Kildare for the second leg of their Cairdeas Cup tie against Suncroft FC last Saturday looking to overturn a 0-1 deficit from the first leg played in Drombane last month.

With eight minutes gone Stephen Ferncombe won possession near the edge of the area and struck a venomous shot to the net.

It remained 1-0 to the visitors at the break.

Clodiagh introduced Sean Ryan for the second half and he quickly made an impression down the right flank by playing a fine ball onto Ferncombe who in turn pulled it back for Luke Shanahan who buried his chance from 10 yards out.

Clodiagh continued to dominate matters from here on and Stephen Ferncombe capped a superb personal performance by scoring twice more to claim his hat trick and secure Clodiagh's passage to the semi final of this competition in style.

Others to shine for the Drombane side were Jason O'Dwyer and Luke Shanahan in midfield while Oisin Treacy was equally impressive at the heart of a solid defence.
