The Clodiagh Rangers management had little difficulty picking the starting eleven for this visit to Clonmore, sticking with the same lineup that netted six on their previous outing.

Their decision was vindicated when in form striker Ailbe O'Donoghue netted impressively midway through the half to give the away side a deserved lead. Clodiagh Rangers extended their lead early in the second half with O'Donoghue showing the way once more.

Not to be outdone on the scoring stakes, strike partner Tommy Stevens got in on the act shortly after to make it three and seemed to have settled the contest. This was far from the case, and in a turn of events that will have frustrated the Clodiagh Rangers management team, Clonmore to their credit blew the contest wide open in the last twenty minutes.

Stephen Coonan struck for Clonmore on seventy minutes, and doubled his tally with five minutes to play, leaving a tense finish for the league leaders. Clodiagh Rangers managed to steady the ship though and held out for a fifth successive league win leaving them in a commanding league position at the halfway point, with a trip to second place Arra on the cards next Saturday.
