Clodiagh advanced to semi final of North Tipperary Youth Cup with a hard earned win over Division One outfit Blackcastle after extra time in Templemore on Saturday last.
Clodiagh Rangers were slow to settle, no doubt due to long lay off since their last league fixture, and the management will have been frustrated by the soft nature of the concession of the lead goal after twenty minutes with Moloney on the mark for Blackcastle.

Clodiagh Rangers appeared unfazed by this setback and strike duo, Stevens and O'Donoghue, combined to good effect before the break with Tommy Ryan finishing clinically to the corner of the net.

Into the second half and Blackcastle once more hit the front with a somewhat fortunate strike, finding its way to the net directly from a corner kick.

Clodiagh had to dig deep to pull themselves back into the contest and with time running out Ailbe O'Donoghue popped up with the equalizer.

Momentum was with the visitors in extra time and O'Donoghue bagged his second of the day three minutes into extra time with a strike from outside the box.

The prolific O'Donoghue sealed the contest and completed his hatrick shortly afterwards with Stevens providing the assist. Much credit should also go to the defensive axis of Murray and Armstrong who marshalled the defense throughout.
