Clodiagh Rangers Yts welcomed Nenagh AFC Yts to Drombane for this Shield encounter last weekend, and came out the wrong side of a high-scoring contest.

Clodiagh Rangers were immediately on the back foot with Nenagh AFC dominating the early exchanges, and despite this pressure, the home side took the lead on fifteen minutes when Stephen Quinn found the impressive Loughlin Ryan who finished from close range.

This rallied the home side who began to get a foothold in the match only to see a deflected effort sail over the home keeper to level things after twenty-five minutes.

Nenagh AFC upped the ante and soon found themselves ahead after some neat interchanges through the middle of the park and a clever finish. Nenagh AFC tagged on two more goals before half time to leave the home side with a mountain to climb after the interval.

The second half saw a marked improvement from the home side with Enda Heffernan moving into midfield and returning an impressive performance.

Clodiagh Rangers' hard work in the second half was rewarded when Toby Clancy's long range pass found Niall Grant, who then cut in from the side beating two defenders and slotted passed the advancing keeper. Gavin Ryan also turned in a strong performance in the second half to keep the visitors score to a minimum with some top class saves, but ultimately could do nothing about the last goal of the game which went to the visitors.
